Operatives of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) have arrested two members of the Islamic State Khurasan Province (ISKP), including the terrorist group’s recruitment officer in Pachiragam district, on Sunday, March 14, according to a local official.
Talking to Kabul Now, spokesperson for Nangarhar governor Attaullah Khogyani, said that the two terrorists were arrested in an operation conducted by the NDS 02 unit in PD4 of Jalalabad, the capital city of the eastern Nangarhar province. He did not name the ISKP recruitment officer but identified another arrested member of the ISKP as Khan Ghulam also known as Khan Qari.
On the other hand, four Taliban militants were killed and eight others wounded in clashes that erupted between the Afghan security forces and the militants in Haskamina district of the province.
Neither the ISKP nor the Taliban has so far commented regarding the two incidents.
Nangarhar is a volatile province where the Taliban control swaths of territories and the ISKP have kept a foothold and conduct sporadic attacks against the government forces.
