Afghan commandos seize Taliban’s command center in Nangarhar

Afghan commando forces have seized the “biggest” command and control center of the Taliban in eastern Afghanistan, according to the Ministry of Defense (MoD).

The group’s command and control center was seized in an operation launched yesterday, Monday, March 01, by Afghan commando forces in Hessarak district of the eastern Nangarhar province, the MoD said in a statement.

The commando forces have also confiscated weapons and equipment belonging to the Taliban militants. Some narcotics kept inside the center were burned by the government forces, according to the statement.

As per account of the MoD, the Taliban did plan and carry out their “terroristic” attacks in eastern Afghanistan using these command and control center.

The Taliban have not made any comment in this regard.

Nangarhar is an insecure province where the Taliban maintain control over swaths of territories in several districts, including in Hessarak.
