World Food Program Distributes Food Aid to Tens of Thousands in Northern Afghanistan

The World Food Program (WFP) says it has distributed food assistance to tens of thousands of people in northern Afghanistan, as hunger deepens ahead of the harsh winter.

In a statement posted on X on Wednesday (December 24), WFP said it provided wheat, pulses and nutritious food to 14,000 people in Jawzjan province. The agency noted that the aid was delivered before the onset of winter to help vulnerable families endure extreme cold and ensure proper nutrition for children.
