A 60-year-old woman, identified as Bibi Surat, was found dead in the Khwaja Ghar district of northeastern Takhar province, local sources said.
The body of the woman was found hanging in the district’s Esfand-Dasht village on Friday midnight, one source told KabulNow.
Bibi was killed under mysterious circumstances, the source said.
The motive behind the killing is unclear, the source added.
Mobin Safi, Taliban’s security spokesperson in the province, stated that Taliban police have detained Bibi’s son in connection to the incident.
He also said that an investigation is underway.
No further information was available immediately.
