The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), an armed anti-Taliban group, has claimed that its forces killed two members of the Taliban intelligence in an attack in Shakardara district of Kabul.
The AFF made the claim in a Persian statement on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The statement said that the attack took place at around 8:30 p.m. local time on Thursday.
The AFF said that Qari Saaruddin, a member of Taliban intelligence, and his bodyguard were killed in the attack.
The Taliban has not yet commented on the attack.
The AFF and the National Resistance Front (NRF) are the two main groups engaged in armed clashes with the Taliban. Both groups have intensified their attacks against Taliban forces in Kabul and many other provinces in recent weeks.
In the past months, the groups have claimed to have killed and injured dozens of Taliban members in Kabul, Parwan, Baghlan, Kunduz, and Badakhshan provinces.
