Security forces reclaim Badpash district in Laghman

The security and defense forces reclaimed Badpash district in the eastern Laghman province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

Ahmad Zia Zia, a deputy spokesman for the MoI, said the Afghan security and defense forces recaptured the district last night, August 04.

The Taliban has suffered heavy casualties during the operations launched by security and defense forces in the district, he added.

The 02 unit of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), said in a statement that the NDS special forces have recaptured Badpash district which is currently under their control.

Located in the eastern part of the country, Laghman is an insecure province.

Violence escalates across the country as the Taliban insurgents trying to make more territorial gain.

The Afghan security and defense forces have launched a clearance operation in the outskirt of Lashkar Gah city, the capital city of southern Helmand province.

Last week, the Afghan defense forces, backed by uprising forces, pushed the Taliban insurgents out of Pul e Malan, an area in the outskirt of Herat. Tow security forces lost their lives in clashes between the insurgents and the Afghan forces.

The Taliban attack in Herat has intensified since last Wednesday, July 28, forcing hundreds of civilians flee their houses.

The insurgents have blown up a small bridge in Sorkhrud district of Nangarhar province, Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for Nangarhar governor, said.
