Afghan defense and security forces have retaken Dushi district in the northern Baghlan province, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed. The district had fallen to the Taliban on June 20.
“Clearance operations against terrorists continue in Baghlan,” Fawad Aman, spokesperson for the ministry, said in a tweet, today, June 22.
The security and defense forces use all facilities at their disposal to protect lives and property of people, he added.
In recent weeks, the Taliban have overrun Jilga, Nahrin, Burka, and Baghlan-e- Markazi districts of the same province.
With the newly reclaimed district, the total number of districts fallen to the Taliban since May 01, beginning of foreign troop withdrawal, across the country reaches 54.
