Unknown gunmen shot dead religious leader in Parwan

Unknown gunmen shot dead Mawlawi Saifullah Safi, the head of “teachers’ council” in Sayed Khel district, local sources confirmed today, Sunday, May 23.

Ahmad Umar Osmanyar, the district governor for Sayed Khel, said the incident took place today morning at 8:00 AM in front of Saif ur Rahman Shahid School.

The armed assailants managed to escape, according to him.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The Taliban militants maintain a presence in some parts of Parwan including Sayed Khel and Jabal Saraj districts.

The group has not yet commented on the incident.
