Three security forces lost lives and seven wounded in Dara-e-Suf

Three security forces lost their lives and seven others wounded in Taliban attacks in Dara-e-Suf district of the northern Samangan province, a security official said, today, Saturday, May 08.

Sultan Ali Sultan, the district governor for Dara-e-Suf, said that the Taliban militants launched attacks from three directions at a security checkpoint in Kotal Qala area of Dara-e-Suf district.

Two policemen and a Territorial Army force were among those killed. The wounded include five security forces and one Territorial Army force, Mr. Sultan said.

Six Taliban militants were reported killed and six others wounded in a clash that erupted between the security forces and the militant group.

The Taliban has not made any comment so far.

Samangan is an insecure province where the Taliban militants control some areas.
