Six security guards of Khaf-Herat railway killed

At least six security guards of Khaf-Herat railway were killed after their shuttle hit a roadside bomb in Ghorian district, a local source said today, Sunday, May 30.  

Sayed Abdul Wahid Qatali, the governor for Herat, said the incident took place yesterday evening around 2:45 PM, May 29.

He did not provide details on the incident.

Khaf-Herat railway security guards came under repeated targeted attacks over last months.

On December 10, 2020, the third phase of the construction of Khaf-Herat railway was completed and the fourth phase is under construction.
