Three consecutive blasts have targeted school students outside Sayed ul-Shuhada High School in a western neighborhood of Kabul city, a school teacher confirmed to Kabul Now. At least 35 wounded have been taken to hospitals, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
Ali Khan Ehsani, the headmaster of the Sayed ul-Shuhada High School, said a car bomb went off near the high school which was followed by two consecutive blasts targeting school students while they were leaving for their houses.
As many as 22 wounded were taken to Mohammad Ali Jenah and Barchi 50-bed hospitals, confirmed Dastgir Nazari, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health. He said two wounded people are in critical condition.
Tariq Arian, the MoI spokesperson, told Kabul Now that the incident took place around 04:27 PM today, May 08, near Sayed ul-Shuhada High School in Ettifaq township, a neighborhood in the western part of Kabul city. 35 wounded were transferred to hospitals, he said. “This is a terroristic crime,” the MoI official wrote on Facebook. He, however, did not provide details on death tolls.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
