Taliban kill KU lecturer in Baghlan

The Taliban insurgents have killed Aziz Ahmad Panjshiri, a Kabul University lecturer, in central Baghlan district of the northeastern Baghlan province, say local security officials.

Jawed Basharat, spokesperson for Baghlan Police Chief, told Kabul Now that the incident took place on Tuesday, November 05, in central Baghlan district while Mr. Panjshiri was travelling to Kunduz. The dead body of the victim is being kept in the Baghlan Provincial Hospital, Jawed said.

Spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, however, rejected involvement of the militants in Panjshiri’s murder.

The northeastern Baghlan province is restive and the Taliban control a number of districts in Baghlan.
