Four senior Taliban commanders were killed when their riding vehicle was hit in an airstrike carried out by foreign forces, serving NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, in Khak-e-Safid district of the western Farah province, according to spokesperson of the province police chief, Muhibullah Muhib.
He said that the airstrike was carried out around 4:30 PM on Monday, October 07, naming the dead militants as Mawlawi Kamran, Mawlawi Samad, Mawalawi Dawood, and Mawlawi Akhundzada.
The local official added that the Taliban commanders were behind many complex terrorist attacks in Farah province.
While Farah is said to be a volatile province where the Taliban militants have active insurgency in some districts, provincial councilmen say the militants operations has decreased as the result of recent airstrikes by NATO forces.
