Death toll of Kabul wedding hall rises to 80

The death toll of Kabul wedding hall jumped to 80. On Saturday, August 17, 2019, a suicide bombing killed as many as 63 and wounded 182 in wedding hall in western Kabul.  

Hours after the attack, the ministry confirmed that as many as 63 people, including women and children, were killed and 182 others wounded.

The attack was widely condemned inside and outside Afghanistan and the Afghan government put off a nationwide celebration of Afghanistan 100th Independence Day anniversary to pay tribute to the victims of the attack.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
