The National Resistance Front (NRF), an anti-Taliban armed group, has claimed that its operatives killed and injured six Taliban forces in Kabul and Takhar provinces.
NRF said in a statement on X that its operatives carried out an attack on a Taliban intelligence patrol in the Siyab Qoli area of Shakardara district in Kabul province on Sunday night, killing one Taliban member and wounding two others.
In Takhar, NRF forces attacked a Taliban base in the Tekah Timuz Tangi area of the Farkhar district on Sunday midnight, killing one Taliban member and wounding two others.
The third attack was also carried out in Farkhar around midnight, NRF stated, when its forces opened fire at a Taliban police command, wounding several members of the group.
Light and heavy weapons were used in these attacks, NRF noted, adding that none of its forces were harmed.
The Taliban has not commented.
This comes after the deadly clashes that erupted in Badakhshan province in recent weeks.
Last week, NRF claimed that its forces killed or injured 45 Taliban fighters in these clashes, adding that at least four of its forces, including its Commander Tahir, were also killed and two others wounded.
NRF is an armed group formed of former security forces under the leadership of Ahmad Masoud, son of the Jihadi commander Ahmad Shah Masoud. The group has challenged the Taliban in deadly battles mainly in the north and northeastern provinces.
