AFF claims killing and injuring 8 Taliban members in Parwan province

The anti-Taliban armed group, Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), has claimed that its forces carried out an attack on a Taliban base in eastern Parwan province, killing five Taliban members and injuring three others.

The group said in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the attack took place on Tuesday at 2 am in the Du Saraka area close to the Bagram airport.

None of its forces were harmed, the AFF said.

The Taliban has not commented.

In recent weeks, AFF has intensified its attacks against Taliban forces.

Last week, AFF claimed that its operatives killed or injured at least 15 Taliban forces in separate attacks in Badakhshan, Baghlan, and Kabul.

Afghanistan Freedom Front and the National Resistance Front are the two main groups engaged in armed clashes with the Taliban since the group’s return to power in August 2021.
