Armed men kidnap former member of Balkh’s provincial council

Sources in Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province confirmed to KabulNow that as many as six armed men stormed the house of Bashir Ahmad Azizullah, a former member of the Balkh provincial council, on Saturday in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of the northern province.

Close to Atta Mohammad Noor, the former governor of Balk province, he served two terms as member of the Balkh Provincial Council.

Some sources have claimed the Taliban is responsible for his abduction. But the group and his family have not commented.
