KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) claims that three Taliban members were killed and two others wounded in a rocket attack carried out by its forces on a Taliban military center in Baghlan province.
In a statement, the anti-Taliban armed group said the attack took place around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night in the Deh Salah area of the Andarab district. The group stated that the operation lasted about half an hour.
According to the AFF, Qari Haseeb, the commander of the Taliban military center, was present at the site during the attack, though his current status remains unknown. The group also claimed that none of its fighters were injured.
Taliban officials in Baghlan have not yet commented on the incident.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front was established following the Taliban’s return to power in 2021 and is led by General Yasin Zia, former Chief of Staff of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF). Comprised largely of ex-ANDSF personnel, the group has been involved in ongoing attacks against Taliban forces, particularly in Panjshir, Kabul, Balkh, and surrounding regions.
