US weapons left in Afghanistan found in the hands of Palestinian militants in Gaza

Some of the weapons left behind in Afghanistan by the US have reached militants in Palestine.

According to an Israeli military commander, who has spoken to Newsweek, some “small arms” the US and allies abandoned in Afghanistan have been seen in the hands of Palestinian militants in Gaza Strip.

A Pentagon report following the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021 said that $7 billion worth of military equipments given to the previous Afghan government fell into the hands of the Taliban.

It has previously been claimed that some of the weapons had already been used by militants in Kashmir and elsewhere in the region.

The weapons have also become a source of revenue for Taliban commanders who compete to sell and smuggle them out of Afghanistan.
