Iranian Envoy to Kabul: Doha meeting should aim to end Afghanistan’s problems

On the eve of the Doha meeting on Afghanistan, the Iranian Ambassador to Kabul, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, stated that the meeting should be an effort to end the problems of the people of Afghanistan.

The Iranian embassy wrote that in a recent meeting with the Kazakh ambassador in Iran, Mr. Qomi emphasized the role of regional meetings in finding a solution to the Afghanistan crisis and the need for the United Nations to support these meetings.

According to Mr. Qomi, the region bears responsibility for Afghanistan, and the solution to the Afghanistan crisis should be pursued in the region.

The Iranian ambassador also mentioned that the legacy of twenty years of “American occupation” has led to problems such as terrorism, economic crisis, and drugs in Afghanistan, and the Doha meeting should be a platform for ending the problems faced by the people of this country.

The Doha meeting, which is set to take place on May 1 for two days, aims to find a unified approach to deal with the situation in Afghanistan and prevent further instability.
