Taliban detain seven people in Balkh for disobeying eviction order

The Taliban in Balkh province’s Dehdadi district has detained seven people, including local representatives, for allegedly not obeying an order to leave state owned properties.

According to local sources, the Taliban ordered families to vacate retirement homes given to them by the previous government, and the men have been held at the group’s 209 Al-Fath Corps base for the past three days.

The Taliban dispersed a rally by some residents who were demanding the release of the men outside the group’s military base on Sunday.

Sources have confirmed to KabulNow that in at least 3000 families near Al-Fath Corps base have been forced to leave.
