Sadiq Khan: Taliban Need to Beef up the Security of Pakistan Embassy

Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq Khan asked the Taliban government to beef up the security measures of the Pakistani Embassy and its diplomatic personnel in Kabul, Afghanistan. Yesterday, the Pakistani Embassy witnessed an armed attack.

He tweeted today, December 3 that Pakistan’s ambassador and his team are working in an ‘extremely challenging situation’.

“Our top most priority is the security of members of our mission”, Sadiq Khan added.

In another tweeter thread, he added that the Pakistan government will also provide the necessary resources to further enhance the security of their diplomats to ensure the discharge of duties by them in the “most important foreign Capital for Pakistan”.

In yesterday’s attack on the Pakistani embassy, ​​the country’s head of mission, Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani survived the ‘assassination attempt’, but his bodyguard was critically injured. The injured has been transferred to Peshawar, Pakistan for treatment.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, in a telephone conversation with Taliban Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said that the security of the Pakistani embassy and its diplomatic personnel in Afghanistan is very important. He added that the Taliban government should prevent terrorists from undermining and endangering the relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
