In the latest show of atrocity, the Taliban militants have beheaded five government forces Maidan Wardak and shot dead four civilians in Ghor, local authorities said.
Sardar Bakhtiari, a member of Maidan Wardak Provincial Council, told Kabul Now today, April 22, that the militants beheaded five government forces two days ago, April 20, in Mullahkhel village of Maidan Shahr. He said the government forces were stationed in Antan military outposts and they had surrendered to the Taliban militants.
The local officials, however, did not make it clear that when they had surrendered to the militants.
On Wednesday, April 21, the militants abducted five passengers while they were heading from Jalrez district to Maidan Shahr.
A surge in violence is on the rise across the country which continues to claim lives. Last week, the Taliban warned that the group would resort to violence if the US forces do not leave Afghanistan by May 01 deadline. The statement came after US President Biden announced that the US troops will leave the country by September 11.
The Taliban militants gunned down four civilians including and a teacher and the head of agriculture management of Lal Wa Sarjangal district.
Ghulam Sakhi Jawid, a member of Ghor Provincial Council, confirmed to Kabul Now that the incident took place in Dawlatyar district of the province on Wednesday, April 21. The victims are Hazaras who were traveling from Lal Wa Sarjangal to Ferozkoh, the capital city of the province.
