Taliban cut water runoff in Badakhshan

The Taliban militants have cut water runoff—that supply water to nearly 800 families—in Argo district of the northeastern Badakhshan province, a local source said, today, Monday, May 31.

Nik Mohammad Nazari, the spokesperson for Badakhshan governor, said few days ago the Taliban cut irrigation water of locals in Shah Marry village of Argo district. The water shortage imposed by the Taliban has caused several difficulties for locals and agriculture in this village, he said.

The Taliban has not made any comment in this regard so far.

The Taliban militants control swaths of territory in Badakhshan.

On May 26, the militants forced more than 500 families to leave their homes in Yaftal e Payan.
