Afghanistan and Turkey sign MoU in agriculture cooperation

Afghanistan and Turkey have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in areas of agriculture and livestock, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL) said in a statement issued today, March 09.

The MoU was signed between the Afghan minister of agriculture, Anwarul Haq Ahady, and Tukey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli, in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.

As stated in the statement, the MoU will enable the two countries to cooperate in technical, scientific, and economic areas of agriculture.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the MoU, Ahady described it as the beginning of cooperation and coordination in the field of agriculture. He said that this cooperation will further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two nations. Afghanistan will benefit from Turkey’s experience and knowledge in the area of agriculture, he added.

Turkey’s minister of agriculture and forestry also described the MoU as an exchange in agriculture fields between the two countries. He pledged that Turkey would help Afghanistan to develop its agriculture technics and products.

According to the MAIL, a joint team from the two countries has prepared the 10-point MoU.
