Traffic accidents involving Taliban vehicles kill two in Baghlan and Panjshir

Two separate fatal traffic accidents left one woman and a young man dead in Baghlan and Panjshir provinces.

In Baghlan, a Ford Ranger pickup truck of an Uzbek Taliban Commander, named Khaled-uddin Saqib, ran over a woman and her daughter on Sunday night in Pul Khumri city, locals said.

One source in the district hospital in Baghlan, requesting anonymity, told KabulNow that the woman’s dead body had been transferred to the hospital. This source added that the child had sustained injuries and remains under treatment.

In Panjshir, a Toyota Corolla, reportedly affiliated with the Taliban, collided with a motorcycle, killing the young motorcyclist. The victim was identified as Mohammad Ekhlas who worked at a local bakery.

According to local sources, Ekhlas crashed with the Taliban’s vehicle when he was heading towards a Taliban checkpoint near Ahmad Shah Massoud’s tomb.
