Taliban arrests boy and girl for alledged eloping

The Taliban in Ghor province have has arrested a teenage boy and girl for alleged eloping.

According to a statement from the group’s security chief in the province, the couple was detained in the city of Firozkoh, the provincial capital, on Thursday. Investigations were ongoing, the statement added.

The Taliban has previously arrested and publicly flogged men and women in Ghor and other province accused of similar crimes.
