Burka district of Baghlan falls to Taliban.

The Taliban militants have taken control over Burka district of the northeastern Baghlan province, a local security official confirmed, today, Wednesday, May 05.

Ahmad Jawid Besharat, the spokesperson for Baghlan police, said around 10:00 PM the Taliban militants took control over the district center.

The Afghan security forces have made a tactical retreat to an adjoining district where they are preparing for an operation to reclaim Burka district.

No causality has been reported.

The Taliban has not made an immediate comment in this regard.

Amid blocked peace talks with the Afghan government, the Taliban militants have intensified their attacks on Afghan security forces.
