Traffic accident in Balkh province claims seven lives, including two children

A traffic accident on the Balkh-Jowzjan highway in Charbolak district of northern Balkh province has killed seven people, including four women and two children.

Health officials in Balkh province have said that the accident took place on Monday afternoon when two Toyota-type cars collided. Seven passengers in both vehicles were killed, and one person was injured.

The Taliban Directorate of Public Health in Balkh province has confirmed the accident and said that the bodies of the dead and the injured were taken to Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Hospital in the province.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but poor road conditions, driver carelessness, high speed, and non-compliance with traffic regulations are some of the main factors that contribute to traffic accidents in the country.
