NRF claims killing two Taliban fighters including a commander in Takhar province

The National Resistance Front (NRF), an armed anti-Taliban group, has claimed to have killed two Taliban fighters including a commander in northeastern Takhar province.

The NRF said in a tweet on Thursday that the attack was carried out on Wednesday at a Taliban base located in Farkhar district of the province.

Local sources have also confirmed that NRF fighters killed Two Taliban members including Mohammad Haroon, the Taliban commander in Farkhar district.

Additionally, the NRF stated that its fighters carried out attacks on Taliban bases in eastern Nuristan province on Wednesday, causing casualties to the Taliban.

The Taliban has not yet commented on the attacks.

The National Resistance Front (NRF) and Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) are the two main groups engaged in armed clashes with the Taliban since the group’s return to power in August 2021.

On Wednesday, Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) claimed that its fighters killed and injured four Taliban members in an attack in northeastern Badakhshan province.
