Four Children Drown While Swimming in Zabul

The Taliban Health officials in southern Zabul province have reported that four children drowned while swimming in Shahjoy district of the province.

Mirwais Afghan, the Taliban’s head of public health in Zabul, provided details of the incidents that occurred in the Chino and Kalakhil villages on Thursday.

The first incident unfolded in the Chino village, where three children tragically drowned, succumbing to the treacherous waters. Another child emerged from the incident with severe injuries, fighting for survival.
The second incident took place in Kalakhil village, claiming the life of one child who drowned. Additionally, four other children sustained injuries during the ordeal.

Mirwais Afghan emphasized the gravity of the injured children’s conditions and confirmed their ongoing treatment at the hospital. In an effort to prevent further accidents, he urged families to refrain from allowing their children to swim in deep and cold water.
