Taliban official calls on the group’s ‘hundreds of volunteers’ in the West to kill opponents

Qari Saeed Khosty, a Taliban official close to the group’s Interior Minister and the head of the Haqqani Network, Sirajuddin Haqqani, has called on the group’s supporters in Europe and America to kill its opponents.

In a now deleted tweet in Pashto, Qari Saeed Khosty said:

“Kill the fugitives one by one with knives. If anyone preaches against our country, go kill them. We have hundreds of volunteers in the Europe and America, they just need organisation and leadership.”

Khosty has been previously accused of kidnaping, rape and forced marriage of a women in Kabul.

Support Independent Journalism in Afghanistan

Your support helps us sustain independent journalism, publish accurate and fair reporting, expose corruption, and amplify the voices of those who are silenced. Our journalists work in difficult, and at times dangerous, conditions to ensure that the lives, suffering, and struggles of ordinary people are not erased or forgotten.
