Security forces reclaim Sheikh Ali district

The security and defense forces backed by People Uprising Forces have reclaimed Sheikh Ali district of Parwan province after it briefly fell to the Taliban, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said today, July 17.

Fawad Aman, the spokesperson for the MoD, said the government forces backed by local forces have reclaimed the center of the district yesterday evening, July 16.

The Taliban insurgents have left the area suffering heavy casualties and loss of ammunition.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.

Located in the northern part of the country, Parwan is an insecure province where the insurgents have intensified their attacks in recent months.
