As many as 134 civilians were killed and 289 others wounded in Taliban attacks over past 25 days across Afghanistan, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
Speaking at a press conference today, November 15, the MoI Spokesperson Tariq Arian detailed that the Taliban conducted 15 car bombings and exploded nearly 200 roadside bombs which accounts for majority of the civilian casualties during the period.
He described the civilian casualties as a result of Taliban attacks as a major war crime.
The Taliban, however, have not commented regarding the incident.
Afghanistan is witnessing a growing insecurity in rural and urban areas despite Taliban commitments to reduce the violence and refrain attacking big cities after the militant group struck a peace deal with the United States in Doha, capital of Qatar, on February 29.
Since then, the two sides of the deal have repeatedly accused each other of violating the agreement.
