Taliban car bombing kills four Afghan Special Forces in Kabul

As many as four Afghan special operation forces were killed and three others injured after a vehicle laden with explosives went off at the entrance gate of Afghan Special Operation Corps headquarter in Chahar Asiab district of Kabul, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed in a statement.

According to the statement, the incident took place around 01:00 PM, today, September 12, in Rishkhor neighborhood of the district.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. In a statement, the group claimed a large number of Afghan forces were killed and wounded in the attack.

The attack comes just a week after 10 civilians were killed and 42 others wounded in a car bombing by the militant group in Macroryan Awal neighborhood of Kabul city.

Violence is expected to intensify between the Taliban militants, the Afghan forces and their international allies as US President Donald Trump, speaking in the 18th commemoration of 9/11 attack, in Pentagon, said the US would continue to hit the Taliban more than ever before.
