Blast at a hotel in Khost kills at least 3, injures 7

A blast ripped through a hotel near Spin mosque in southeastern Khost province, killing at least three people and injuring seven others.

Khalid Zadran, Taliban’s spokesman for the Kabul police command, said that the explosion took place Monday morning and targeted “Waziristani migrants”.

Taliban security forces have been deployed at the blast scene and an investigation is underway, he stated, adding that the victims were taken to hospital.

Zadran did not provide further information.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

One source suspects an aerial strike has targeted a faction of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants who frequented the hotel.
