Woman killed in Mazar-i-Sharif as surge in murders continue

According to local sources, a woman was allegedly murdered by an 18-year-old robber in her home in Mazar-i-Sharif on Saturday.

Local sources said that the woman, identified as Wahida, was stabbed to death before being hit by bricks by the robber in the PD 9 area of the city.

Sourced added that the suspect had worked at Wahida’s home as a construction worker a few days ago and attacked Wahida while she was alone at home.

Taliban police say that the suspect has been arrested.

However, Mohammad Asif Waziri, Taliban security spokesperson in the province, did not respond to KabulNow’s questions about the matter.

There has been a recent surge in reports of incidents of violence against women in various provinces, with a majority of these cases resulting in fatalities in the form of either murder or suicide.
