Traffic accident kills and injures several in Samangan province

A traffic accident killed two Taliban men and injured seven passengers when a motorcycle collided with a passenger bus on the Kabul-Balkh highway in the northern Samangan province.

Taliban’s security command in the province said that the accident occurred on Saturday in the Zahrabi area when two Taliban men riding a motorcycle crashed with a coach.

The injured passengers were taken to the provincial hospital for treatment, the Command added.

The cause of the accident is unclear.

Traffic accidents have increased in Afghanistan in recent months. Poor road conditions, driver carelessness, and non-compliance with traffic regulations are some of the main factors that contribute to traffic accidents in the country.
