Four people killed across Afghanistan as murder rates continue to rise

Three separate incidents in different provinces of Afghanistan have resulted in the deaths of two women, one child, and one man over the past two days.

In northern Kunduz province, the body of a woman was discovered in the Shah Tepah area of Aliabad district on Wednesday morning.

According to Jumauddin Khaksar, the spokesperson for the Taliban security command in Kunduz, the woman was allegedly stabbed to death in an unknown location, and her body was left in the Shah Tepah area. The identity of the victim remains unknown, and her body has been taken to Kunduz Provincial Hospital.

In western Farah province, a 12-year-old child named Naser was allegedly killed in Lash wa Juwayn district on Tuesday, and his body was subsequently set on fire.

Local sources have confirmed this incident and stated that the child was a resident of Lash wa Juwayn district.

The local Taliban officials in Farah have arrested several individuals in connection with the murder, but the motive behind the incident is still unknown.

In northern Baghlan province, the Taliban police reported the murder of a couple by unidentified individuals. The incident occurred on Tuesday in central Baghlan district.

Local sources believe that personal enmity might be the motive behind the murder.

The surge in murders, often attributed to “mysterious” killings across the country, has raised concerns about the security situation in Afghanistan. The Taliban has been struggling to maintain law and order since it took control of the country in August 2021.
