Local sources in northern Kunduz province report the drowning of two young sisters in Chahar Dara River in the capital city of this province.
The incident reportedly occurred in Hamid-Bai village of PD3 Kunduz on Friday, where the girls, aged 19 and 21, had gone to wash clothes by the river.
According to a source, one of the girls initially drowned while swimming, prompting her sister to leap into the water to rescue her. However, she did not succeed and both of them drowned.
Despite the efforts of local residents, the two sisters could not be saved. It took an hour for their bodies to be recovered downstream, as stated by the sources.
