A man and a child have reportedly committed suicide in the southeastern Ghazni province, according to local sources.
The man, identified as Khalil al-Rahman, worked as a nurse at the Yakatoo clinic in Andar district. He took his own life with a gun on Tuesday, shortly after his engagement ceremony.
The body of a 10-year-old child was also found hanged in the Tahwil-Dar area of the capital city. The child is believed to have also committed suicide.
The Ghazni Provincial Hospital has not yet confirmed the reports of four suicide cases in a single day.
Afghanistan has seen a sharp rise in suicide since the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021.
