Taliban authorities in the Bagram district of Parwan province have detained the father of a young man who beat a Taliban soldier during an altercation.
The young man, identified as Baryalai, escaped the area after a fistfight with a Taliban fighter on Wednesday morning. The reasons for the altercation are unknown, but Baryalai had lost two brothers fighting the Taliban during the previous government.
According to a local source, Taliban forces raided Baryalai’s home and detained his father. The Taliban have said that they will not release Baryalai’s father unless he surrenders.
