Blast outside mosque leaves 6 people wounded in Faryab province

A local source confirmed to KabulNow that at least six people, including three Taliban security forces, were wounded after a bomb placed in a motorcycle went off outside Imam Abu Hanifah Mosque in Maymana, capital of the northern Faryab province, today around 1pm local time.

The head of the Taliban department of information and culture in Faryab, Shamsullh Mohammadi, confirmed the blast at the mosque’s entrance but said it left no casualties.

Faryab province has seen a rise in violent incidents in recent months.
