A roadside blast killed 10 civilians including women and
children yesterday, December 13, in Jaghatu district of the southern province
of Ghazni. The blast left six others injured.

On the other hand, the Taliban militants carried out an attack on Valige area of Qarabagh district of Ghazni last night, and killed 23 Territorial Army forces – a newly established pro-government local force.
Khaleqdad Akbari, a member of Ghazni Provincial Council,
confirmed the attack. Mr. Akbari said that Taliban have captured weapons of
those fighters who were killed in the attack.
The Afghan Ministry of Defense, in a statement, said that
nine members of Afghan National Army were killed in a raid conducted by the
Taliban in Qarabagh district.
The southern province of Ghazni is insecure and the Taliban
militants control all Pashtun populated districts of the province.
