Mine blast kills two people in Nangarhar

Ataullah Khogyani, the spokesman of Nangarhar governor, said a mine explosion killed two Afghan workmen today, 28 October, in Mitran village of Kut district in Nangarhar province. The explosion left five others wounded.  

Local sources in Nangarhar also confirmed that a mine explosion went off at a school which was under construction in Kut district, killing two people and wounding five others.

Mr. Khogyani said that the victims were Afghan workmen, adding those who were injured were taken to a hospital in Kut district of Nangarhar province.

No individual or group has taken the responsibility for the explosion so far.

On 18 October, a series of explosions killed 70 worshipers at a mosque in Jodara area of Haskamina district of Nangarhar province and wounded 30 others. The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the incident.

Nangarhar is an insecure province in the eastern part of the country, where the Taliban and IS are actively present.
