Six people, including a woman, were publicly flogged in Qarghayi district in Laghman Province on Wednesday 28 December.
The Taliban Supreme Court, in a statement confirmed the sentences given by the group’s district court in Qarghayi, which had found the group guilty of adultery and homosexuality.
The Taliban also carried out public flogging of six people in Mehterlam district of Laghman Province.
The group has carried regular public floggings and public executions in recent months amid international condemnations, with the group dismissing them as ‘disrespectful of Islam.’
